4 makeup trends to try this month - and the best way to take them off!

It’s that time of the year again! Fashion Weeks are wrapping up all across the Northern Hemisphere, bringing with them a whole slew of makeup trends. Whilst runway make up is generally a tad more intense than what we all wear on the daily, it's undeniable that the looks heavily influence how we experiment with our own.

Statement Blush

Blush usually takes a backseat to the rest of your look, but this year it's time to try letting it take centre stage! Think brighter shades, like a poppy pink or even orange, across the cheeks and up towards the temples. Draped high across the cheeks can create a bit of drama - like the blush of the 80's but a little more flattering. Give it a go with the Fenty Beauty Blush in Fuego Flush or the Mecca Max Blush Stick in Candy. Start with a light wash of colour and build it up from there!

Neon Eye Looks

Whether it's a graphic liner or full lid of colour, brights and neons are the way to go. From Dua Lipa to Euphoria, inspiration for expressive and bold eye looks is everywhere. Whilst most of us have an eyeshadow palette with shades often considered a bit scary, you can also pick up some beautiful palettes to try out a range of shades. The Australis Kaleidoscope Palette is beautiful as well as the Norvina palettes.

Bold Lips

Masks are starting to come off across the world and bold lip colours are back! Whilst a good red is timeless, it’s also a great time to experiment with rich plum or bright pinks as well. Some shades to check out are the Satin Lipstick in Pomegranate from Anastasia Beverly Hills or the Rare Beauty Matte Lip Cream in Ascend.

Monochromatic Magic

Matching the tones of your makeup to your outfit, or using the same shade across the whole face can create a beautiful monochromatic moment. It’s also a great look to create in a pinch, by using a product like cream blush and taking it across the eyes, cheeks and lips. My top pick is the Nudies Matte Face Colour in Cherie, from Nudestix.

Of course, after all this makeup fun, you’ll need something to help take it all off and make sure that neon green liner doesn’t linger on the skin longer than necessary. GunkOff is here to step in and remove all traces of even the boldest shades (check out how to double cleanse properly to see just how well it works!).
