What is a first and second cleanse?
Your first cleanse is an oil-based formula. The science behind this is that you need an oil to remove oil, because it binds to the excess oil (sebum) on your skin and brings everything else with it. So, what you’re really targeting here is the removal of makeup and sunscreen, along with surface oils and impurities.
Your second cleanse is your water-based step. This helps shift the remaining grime and pollution, also removing anything left from your first step. This ensures the skin is properly cleansed, balance the skin’s PH, and prepare the skin for your remaining skincare routine.
How often should I double cleanse?
Once per day, as the first part of your evening routine is really all you need. However, skincare is completely personal, so if you want to include it in your morning routine as well, that’s totally up to you. GunkOff is formulated to be gentle on the skin, so if twice a day is more your thing, that’s no problem.
What’s the difference between the Melting Balm Cleanser and the Cleansing Balm?
The formula for both features the same gorgeous ingredients line-up, so it’s really all about giving you the option of what works best. Our iconic Cleansing Balm tub is perfect for your skincare shelf and ready for you to dip into. The new Melting Balm Cleanser comes in a tube that may be handy if you prefer to cleanse in the shower or travel a lot.
Really, it’s all about offering a little more flexibility for how you #fkthegunk!
